Bidco Company engaged Sokofreshi Ltd in a partnership, where Sokofreshi was to contract farmers to plant Soya and sell the harvest to Bidco Africa. Sokofreshi embarked on mobilizing farmers to plant the soya, and buy from them (guaranteed market). The mobilization was done through Utugi Tv, which is our media partner. Sokofreshi is to provide(loan) farmers with inputs, as follows

 Seeds to plant,


 Inoculant,

 Storage bags

 Insurance of the inputs.

In turn, Sokofreshi was to educate and train farmers on how to plant the soya, with the help of an agronomist. We managed to mobilize farmers and consequently

We managed to engage some farmers from different regions, specifically in

 Narok

 Muranga Counties,

 Kirinyaga

 Bomet

Although we started later after the rains we managed to engage a total of 30 farmers, with acreage of 39 acres NAROK County.

Expected yield. 40 tonnes.

Total amount of inputs distributed were as follows.

 Seeds- 975 kgs

 Pics Storage bags- 312 bags

 Inoculant- 23pieces(150gms)  25 pieces (100gms)

 Fertilizer – 39 bags (50kgs) – 1, 950 Kgs.

Dates: April 15th 2016.

The team planted the Soya on the 2015 and we will closely follow through the project to harvest period, to ensure its success.

PHASE TWO-2016 •

A team has been put in place to continue with the mobilization of more farmers to plant in the next season, and we are positive we will have the targeted 800 acres countrywide to produce the estimated 800 tons of the soya beans.

• The following are our target areas. Kirinyaga, Embu, Tharaka nithi, laikipia, Gatundu, Maragwa, Nakuru, Gilgil, Transmara, Tranzioia, Kitale Bomet, Kisii, Kakamega.
