REPORT ON HERBS TRAINING ON 4TH MARCH 2016
On the 4th of March, Sokofreshi Limited, in partnership with Utugi TV, a farmers TV, and Helitech Organization held training on herbs, spices and fruits.
The training was held in Githunguri, Kiambu County, at Kagaa Shopping Centre.
Mobilization was done on Utugi TV and farmers were called upon to register for the training, and Sokofreshi oversaw the logistics. Helitech Organization oversaw the training.
The training started with a word of prayer from Pastor Kahura and the MC called upon the different speakers to the stage.
First on stage was the KOAN representative, Mr. Richard Mwangi who gave a clear training in regards to Organic farming.

Next on stage was the CEO, Helitech organization, Mr. William Ngigi who taught on the different herbs, spices and fruits that included Chia seeds, Parsley, Basil, Rosemary, PEPINO Melon and many more.

The turn up was quite impressing with different farmers showing up from different regions, and in different age groups represented.

Different organizations were represented in the training, including the Helitech team, who oversaw the training
Sokofreshi and Utugi, who mobilized the farmers and documented the training
UAP Insurance, Majani Insurance, who gave a talk on crop and livestock insurance and
Soilcares, who were present to do soil testing for the farmers,
Youth enterprise fund gave a talk on market linkages.
More Training was done at the demo farm, where the farmers got to a chance to see the herbs and spices in the farm, and even buy seedlings

The training was a success and the farmers, organizers and sponsors were happy with the training and asked if this could be done often, even with different crops and sectors.
The training ended at around 5.00 pm, with a word of prayer and departed to their different destinations.
